Non l'ho ancora letto, ma dalla premessa e dalla fonte si direbbe "cosa seria".
The collection of short to medium-size essays spans a wide range of ap-proaches to the subject, including: analysis of the development and evolution of specific features in plants and animals, phylogenetic inference, historical and philosophical revision of key aspects of the disciplines, theoretical elaborations on fundamental notions, and conceptual modelling of developmental and evo-lutionary dynamics. It might seem, and actually it is, a very diverse book. How-ever, the volume covers only a fraction of the approaches and questions that are currently debated in these fields of study, to many of which Alessandro Minelli has significantly contributed. Indeed, evolutionary (and) developmental biology studies are experiencing an enormous expansion, partly driven by the advent of new techniques in experimental investigations, but also by the growing the-oretical connections with related fields, such as comparative genomics, systems biology, symbiosis studies, bioinformatics, epigenetics, heredity and ecology. Essays are grouped into five sections of broad topics, but the classification is not intended to be too strict. While being mainly aimed at professional researchers in the field, this essay compilation, as a whole or selected parts of it, could also provide material for discussion groups in undergraduate and graduate univer-sity courses.
